1948 Piper PA-15 Vagabond

The Vagabond was designed by Piper to fit a post WWII market.  The returning military pilot wanted to continue flying, and wanted to be seated BESIDE his sweetie, with his spare arm around her shoulders to ease her fear of being so far above the ground or going so fast so close to the ground. (good enough reason)

This example is on permanent display in the Historic Aircraft Restoration Museum at Creve Coeur Airport.
